Investigation of fluid flow pattern in a 3D meandering tube

Several types of meandering channels and their mathematical simulation have been proposed discussed widely in the open literature. In present study, impact a novel tube geometry on streamwise vortices pressure losses determined. Using simplified Poiseuille flow approach with sinusoidal wavy non-uniform radius, onset separation, vertex formation, Reynolds number field variables stream function has analyzed. Moreover, linear stability theory implemented to trace formation. A decrease wavelength leads separation near tube’s surface, but becomes rectilinear sudden disturbance caused by meander, becoming independent generating centrifugal forces. Novel insights are provided fluid potential applications for enhancing conditions suggested.
